Looking Into the Past

The Library of Congress is full of historical documents for educators to use when devising a Social Studies unit or lesson. There are prints and photographs, historic newspapers, maps, manuscripts, films, sound recordings, and more to be explored on this site. This website is also a great resource to students who are conducting research for a Social Studies paper. Students will be able to explore moments of history and learn more about the world around them.

  2. This website has so much to offer, i really like how you can use it to have students do online projects for history. We've been talking about how important it is to get students involved with technology and now they can use it and have educational projects.

  3. This seems like such a neat tool to use. Just the fact that it involves the Library of Congress makes it that much more important. I think its such a great idea to use technology whenever you can when teaching social studies and history because that seems to be the subject that students find the hardest to get connected with.

  4. This website is not like any other I've seen...it offers so many different media to learn from which makes it interesting. I usually find social studies a bit hard to stay focused with and learn, but I definitely could get used to this site, and kids would learn so much from it.
